ABOUT URBAN COMBATIVES

 

Combatives is designed for Civilians, Army, Law Enforcement, Security and Hospital ordely. Of course they all have different rules of engagement and level of force, depending on the objective. The definition of Combatives is every concept, skillset, tactic or principle that has proven itself to work under real fight stress, such as pain, fatigue, fear, adrenaline, disorientation, and confusion. All these emotional elements are present in a real life altercation with violence and aggression. These elements should be controlled and dealt with in case of a potential confrontation. That is the reason why we need a Combative MINDSET! Combatives from a civilian perspective are used as the purest form of Self Protection in the worst case scenario if you cannot AVOID or ESCAPE the problem! This should ALWAYS be the number one goal! It is not a "system"  or a collection of techniques. Techniques will fail under the dynamics of real violence as a system is boxed up and there is no space for growth and evolution. Instead it is a concept as well as principle based, driven by a combative mindset! Urban Combatives has a compressed curriculum that is principle based. It has "soft skills" and "hard skills". The soft skills are the non-physical elements of Self Protection and are considered your personal security habits. The hard skills are a compressed toolbox with gross-motor physical skills. They are relatively easy to learn and possible to use under real fight duress. The primary focus should be on your MINDSET backed up by your soft and hard skills. We train for level 10 threat. So if you meet for example a level 7 threat you need and should turn the response down! Because from a civilian perspective you need to look at two things: was it REASONABLE and NECESSARY what you did!
